This is the final list of the mens participants. Most of the genuine qualifiers are ranked between 9 to 60. The top ten ranked players are affected by the drop outs from China. Good luck to the top 60 players, not only will they take home some good moola, perhaps their rankings will shoot up the list.

I've got a wedding to attend this weekend but I'll attempt to update readers of the tournament results and interesting tidbits, since Australia doesn't hold a world level championship often. It's really disappointing that the Chinese have left a hole in it.

My previous prediction of the winners is obviously incorrect, so my new forecast is that the SF will be Mitzutani, Chuang ChihYuan, Samsonov and Mattiiass Karlsson (He did well in recent Swedish nationals). I'd say that Mitzutani will win it and play against Karlsson in the final. But apart from Mizutani, I could be hopelessly wrong because at this level, mental strength and tactics (with a top coach in attendance) is the difference between the players.
